Brown
will be back on Sixers' bench; Croce steps down

July 25 (AP) -- Larry Brown just wasn't ready to walk
away. Pat Croce didn't want to stay.
Brown,
who won coach of the year honors while leading the
Philadelphia 76ers into the NBA Finals, said Wednesday
he is returning as the team's coach.

Re-signs with Sixers
PHILADELPHIA,
July 18 (AP) -- Aaron McKie, winner of the NBA's Sixth
Man Award, signed a seven-year deal to stay with the
Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.
"I
didn't know if it was just negotiation tactics or
whatever, but it got sticky," McKie said. "This
is my home. I love the city. I love the fans, the
energy they bring. I didn't want to leave."
